Ya, but I only drive a 1/2 ton truck so I dont use my gears to slow me down, I usually just coast to a stop, thats when I want to go into first, and while I have the clutch in, I put it into third or forth quick so its easier to go into first.

i didnt either unless boss was in truck

  7. yamahonkawazuki says:

thats normal. you never want to hit first, from a high gear like that. really from second only into first. depending on speed mainly

  8. nonamejoe56 says:

Ya, I have tried that, doesn’t work. If I’m going any higher than 1st gear and try and downshift, I cant get in for 5 seconds. I just throw it in 3rd or 4th then it goes in first easy. The odd time is hesitant to go into 2nd and reverse. It has not got worse or better

  9. yamahonkawazuki says:

try doing that wiht a company and see how far you get “real trucker”

  10. yamahonkawazuki says:

f150 is synchronised. shouldnt have to double clutch at all, unless, synchros are going out. if youre at a stop, and cant get into 1st, clutch in, push lever into first position, and SLOWLY release clutch pedal, until it goes into first.

  14. jimmykinkade says:

I’m glad the range selector and splitter are set up ergonomically now.

  15. Stewart36302 says:

  16. bmxpeanut23 says:

  17. bmxpeanut23 says:

show me your video of your gear changes without clutych

  18. powerstroker0622 says:

A REAL TRUCKER DOESN’T CLUTCH AT ALL

  19. rond361 says:

You can’t downshift without using the hi/low splitter but you don’t move the splitter to low range until you are ready to shift from 5th to 4th or 6th to 4th if you are dropping doubles. Dropping doubles is downshifting two gears in one shift you only use the even # gears. If you are in 8OD you need to shift to 8D by moving the D/OD selector to Direct, let off the accelerator depress the clutch you should now be in 8D now you can downshift without using the D/OD selector.

Acutally these things are really easy to drive, as long as you don’t forget what gear your in.

  21. colonelkobiashvili says:

You split low gears if your an 18 speed. They are explaining just a 13 speed

  22. jatinderpoonian says:

Like it very much awsome video full of info.

  23. nonamejoe56 says:

I got a question, can you split low range gears?

  24. magayisa333 says:

because if i want to shift down from 6th to 5th and find out that i have slowed down too much i have to go to 4th

  25. magayisa333 says:

How does gears match up with speed? for example 1-5km/hr is 2st gear.this is important for me to know how to shift down from say; 6th gear to 4th gear
