I did the same to my 525i E39 and it is such a nice mod… Since that I actually love the automatic transmission.

yeah. you need the wheel with the paddles, the steering slip ring for the heated/smg steering wheels and the wire harness for running the two wires from the steering wheel to the gear box. The are lots of DIY write ups for how to do this and what to buy on virtually all the BMW web forums. Doing a quick GOOGLE search or searching in the DIY sections at the forums will answer all your questions.
    Thanks.

Anything else like any wiring harness and connections.. Which steering wheel should i look for (SMG)? Thank You

you would have to swap out the wheel. They sell them from $250 up on ebay or any of the bmw forums websites. Adding just the paddles is incredibly difficult and paddles on their own are expensive and hard to find. You already have the round airbag so all you would need is the wheel with the paddles.

I have a 2004 325i (auto, steptronic) which came with the sports package. My steering wheel looks like yours, and i was wondering that how much it would cost and which parts do i need to do this retrofit. Thank you

My daily driver is E46 328i and E30 325 weekends. 328i is more responsive with Signature Motoring performance (CAI) intake kit. Installed it myself in under half hour. HP increase on the E46 is about 13.5HP for a cost of $170 or around $17 per HP gain. Best 1st performance mod to do. Other application data:

    E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain
    E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain
    E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain
    E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain
    Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

I am ONLY selling my heated steering wheel
and NOT both wheels. I was hoping to keep both wheels:
one for summer and one for winter but I love the M wheel so much I will no longer use the heated wheel. I am only selling the titanium shadow trim cover from the M wheel and NOT the entire wheel. The ENTIRE heated wheel is for sale.

i’ve always wanted the paddle shifters on my 03 325xi and this video of yours was the first good job of it i’ve seen done. you inspired me to do this myself and the funny thing is i was searching on ebay for a paddle shift wheel and came across a seller lorimer77 selling a wheel that could work with my e46. ive been watching your vids and just recently subscribed and recognized the sellers pics as those from your car. i will be bidding shortly, but why are you selling both wheels?
