After a three year build up, Phil made the trip over from Adelaide to Heathcote Raceway to debut his wicked sounding Mitsubishi Sigma for the first time last weekend. Powered by a standard stroke 346ci LS1 engnie, a Garrett GT42 turbo helped the car rocket to a best pass of 9.8 at 140mph for the day. www.facebook.com www.fullboost.com.au

True. I am well aware of the luxury car connection with their so-called lower brand counterparts. I was not trying to make a point about one vs another. Ultimately, my goal is get a vehicle with promise and stay within my budget.

  3. Jld2588 says:

How is “re-badged” Edge for an MKX any different than any other luxury brand. Acura’s are just “re-badged” Honda’s and Lexus’s are just “re-badged” Toyota’s. All luxury cars are basically “re-badged” from something else…

  4. mpgomatic says:

Yep, it was made on a Mac. I’ve since changed the production flow of our segments by running the audio track through Levelator before uploading to YouTube. All is good. :)

  5. rollsroyce666 says:

everyone is saying that the audio isnt quite right, but on my MacBook Air, it seems to sound just fine. Did you make it on a Mac? If so maby there is something wrong with converting it to a non-mac computer.

  6. MrMrPokey says:

Ecoboost would be great. Maybe paired with hybrid? They just cannot take away A.W.D.!!!

  7. Cruzan9 says:

I just saw a video from Motor Trend and they said the same thing about the MKX and the Edge. That’s why the MKX was knocked out in round one of their Best SUV of 2011 review. It’s a bit disconcerting to hear. I really like the MKX but if the components and features I like about it is also in the Edge it may be worth saving a few bucks. I’d have to test them both to make a final decision though.

  8. tubevideoguy762 says:

why would it break down its built by ford they tend to last 15 years minimum so in 2026 you might need to look for a replacement

  9. immortal4942 says:

I had this car for the weekend and I always owned Japanese cars like Acura and toyota/Lexus. I was very impressed with the fuel economy (regular gas), power (mid range torque) and front room comfort. I also loved the sync stereo system. Found xenon projects to be inferior compared to Acura/Lexus however the lighting is still very good. Best of all the ride quality is solid and very comfortable.

However I found the volume and ac controls a bit hard to use. Also the speaker quality is subpar f

  10. flatblackstrat says:

Or the LX being a rebadged Prado. Luckily the Yota version isn’t sold stateside. Sadly the Hilux Surf isn’t sold in Japan anymore.

  11. Jolxu says:

Depends on how you look at it. The next time you see someone driving a Lexus GX, tell the it’s just a rebadged 4Runner!= )

  12. kkjgg112391 says:

Power lifted tail gates but can’t even provide hydraulic lifters for the engine hood PFFT!

  13. XscXps3 says:

    Has it broke down yet?

  14. yellowcow13 says:

I like the AWD torque split screen at 1:38

  15. tim3058 says:

    nice review, nice car.

  16. mpgomatic says:

I haven’t been in the most recent Edge, so I can’t make the call. Best bet would be to drive the two back-to-back.

  17. randomstough says:

lol I was thinking the same thing…

  18. flatblackstrat says:

I have always liked this car but people always seem to knock on it saying “it’s just a re-badged Edge”. How do you feel the 2 compare Dan? Would you just save your money and get an Edge over this or is the extra cash worth it? Interior wise, option wise, and ride quality wise.

  19. 2000mercurysable says:

Are you making sure the audio stays around 12 db’s?

  20. mpgomatic says:

    Workin’ on it … thanks!

  21. carguy379 says:

nope, i did as well. this one does appear to be a much better car though

  22. miami428 says:

Please turn the volume up, it’s low most of the time

  23. DullahanVII says:

Not trying to sound creepy here, but I love your voice. It’s so soothing…

  24. undeadkillers says:

I hope am not the only one who perfered the previous generation full taillights

  25. mpgomatic says:

Many thanks, Josh … great stuff! I’ll order a copy of Audition and change the workflow to follow your suggestions. I’ve been exporting from Final Cut Express (in AppleTV format of late). Sounds and looks okay as a MOV on my iMac, but it gets stomped when its converted. The plan is to go HD at some point this year. If we land a YouTube NextUp spot, that’ll happen sooner, rather than later. Fingers crossed we make the grade …

  26. MrHarvey1301 says:
